South East England Development Agency is Closing on March 31, 2012

The Government has announced that all Regional Development Agencies (RDAs), including SEEDA, will close by 31 March 2012.

Responsibility for economic development and regeneration in England is being passed onto successor bodies, including Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) and central Government departments

Our objective is to ensure a professional and cost effective closure by this date.  We have pledged to work closely with our partners, contractors and stakeholders to ensure that the past and future economic benefits of key programmes and assets continue to deliver the greatest economic value for the South East and value for money for the taxpayer.

Procurement and tender policy

Procurement is an important tool in the delivery of SEEDA’s statutory and corporate objectives.

Our procurement processes ensured that public money was used in a manner that was effective, efficient and achieved value for money.

On procurement exercises where the value was greater than £10,000 a formal tender process was carried out. Tender details will have included contract conditions, pre-selection criteria, contract award criteria and submission date.

SEEDA operated a number of framework panels to facilitate the procurement of works and services. We usually appointed a panel of suitable contractors or consultants for a four year period. Opportunities for suppliers to be appointed to these panels were also advertised on these pages.
