Vacancies on the Board of SEEDA

2 June 2008

If you are committed to, and enthusiastic about, the economic development and regeneration of the South East then you may be interested in joining the Board of SEEDA, the South East England Development Agency.

You will be part of a team of 15 Board Members, who each have a strong track record of achievement in their sectors. The Board is responsible for directing SEEDA in delivering Government policy to strengthen and grow regional economies.

SEEDA is a business-led organisation. Its role will shortly be broadened by gaining the responsibility for drawing up the Single Integrated Regional Strategy, bringing together sustainable economic development and regeneration, spatial planning, housing, transport and climate change action. SEEDA will become the Regional Planning Body.

Board members will therefore be instrumental in managing and driving forward significant change, in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders, and particularly with local authorities, to meet these demanding challenges. This requires a commitment of a minimum of two days a month for an initial period of three years.

SEEDA has vacancies for 2 business positions and 2 local authority councillors. Board Members are appointed by the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform and the Government encourages applications from a wide range of people.

For further information and to apply please visit www.rdaappointments.co.uk. All applicants are encouraged to apply via this process.
