Shutdown - or Survive and Succeed

8 January 2009

As Lord Carter’s interim report, Digital Britain is expected to focus on cementing the UK’s position as a world leader in the knowledge and learning economy later this month, SEEDA is holding an event on 19 January to explain how ICT can increase business productivity and competence.

Organised by Arthur Butterfield, regional ICT Development Manager at SEEDA, the event, which takes place at the Ashford International Hotel, will consider the results of a survey about the use of business systems in SMEs (small and medium enterprises) across the South East.

"This is an ideal opportunity to learn how ICT can impact on your future,” explains Arthur. “Our survey aimed to help identify problems that businesses have or expect with ICT, and what might be done to assist the business community. There are now very new and real opportunities that businesses should become aware of - or they will run the risk of losing out and being left behind.

"This event invites businesses and support organisations to come together to talk about survey results but also to hear about new proposals which will help the region and business to move forward."

Those invited to talk at the event include speakers from IBM, Microsoft, LSC, Alcatel, BT, FSB and Ashford Futures.

Places are limited so those interested in attending should register in advance by:
