South East England Development Agency is Closing on March 31, 2012

The Government has announced that all Regional Development Agencies (RDAs), including SEEDA, will close by 31 March 2012.

Responsibility for economic development and regeneration in England is being passed onto successor bodies, including Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) and central Government departments

Our objective is to ensure a professional and cost effective closure by this date.  We have pledged to work closely with our partners, contractors and stakeholders to ensure that the past and future economic benefits of key programmes and assets continue to deliver the greatest economic value for the South East and value for money for the taxpayer.

Accessibility

Design

In 2008 SEEDA commissioned an independent review of its website to assess and improve usability and accessibility. Many improvements have been subsequently implemented in the new design as a result of the recommendations.

Most links on this site open in the same browser window. Any links to external websites open in a new window. Where necessary, links to content residing on the old website, are also indicated by a popup.

Text resizing

The size of text can be enlarged or reduced by using the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ arrows that appear in the top right of the screen. (Please note: our text resizing feature is dependent on Javascript being turned on.)

Navigation and navigation aids

  • Primary site navigation is located at the top of each page.
  • Secondary navigation links appear on sub-level pages (those that sit under the primary site navigation links) in the left-hand column. This navigation is not site-wide and varies from page to page.
  • The SEEDA logo that appears in the top left of every page will link you back to the home page at any time.
  • Link text is never duplicated. Two links on the same page with the same text always point to the same address.
  • Links to external websites will always open in a new window.
  • When the site is viewed in a text-only browser, the 'skip to content' link becomes visible at the top of each page.
  • Forms have their labels explicitly associated with their controls, aiding users of certain screen readers and speech browsers.

Access keys

Most browsers support jumping to specific links by typing access keys on your keyboard. Our access keys are based on UK government guidelines.

There are a number of keyboard shortcuts, or access keys, to help site users navigate www.seeda.co.uk as detailed below:

  • Alt + 1 Home Page
  • Alt + 2 About Us
  • Alt + 3 About The South East
  • Alt + 4 What We Do
  • Alt + 5 Helping Business
  • Alt + 6 News and Publications

The keyboard shortcuts are intended to help users who have difficulty in using a mouse.

Note: please keep in mind that there can be variations on how to enter the access keys depending on the browser your are using. Firefox, for example, uses the combination: Alt + Shift + Number.

JavaScript

To enhance user experience, this site utilises a small amount of JavaScript (DOM Scripting). If you have disabled JavaScript, or your browser software does not fully support it, the site remains fully operable. Non-JavaScript versions are provided for all our site tools.
